Cupping
Cupping is a healing technique which uses suction to create negative pressure which can loosed muscles relieve neck and back pain as well as stiffness. The suction creates a negative pressure that can loosen muscles and encourage blood flow to help reduce pain and sedate the nervous system to include reducing anxiety. There are a variety of Cupping Techniques; Tri-Points Acupuncture offers Fire Cupping in the Cimarron Office. It is an excellent treatment for lowering blood pressure and can even smooth cellulite.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese natural healing technique, that involves scraping your skin with a smooth edged instrument to improve circulation. It’s s a great modality which offers quick results for acute conditions such as cold, flu, fever, respiratory problems, perimenopausal symptoms and chronic pain. Gua Sha/Scraping can be performed on a person’s back, buttocks, neck, arms, legs and even the face when applied gently. Gua sha moves stagnant energy, called chi, improves blood flow and thereby reducing inflammation which is key because inflammation is responsible for multiple underlying conditions associated with chronic pain. Scraping the skin’s prepared surface breaks up blockages to promote healing.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy which consists of burning dried mugwort on particular points on the body. It has a warming affect and can increase flow of qi and blood. It’s intended to prevent diseases and maintain health as part of tonification treatments to help strengthen the organs and immune system. It warms the meridians and expels cold, promotes circulation over areas of chronic pain and is often used to treat menstrual issues and has even been used to turn breech babies to the head-down position prior to childbirth.
